Inchworm, Phase 1: Sensory Awakenings

CATEGORY: Toys

(Lamaze)

Product For a newborn, who can't yet focus all that well and whose senses are still developing, start with a toy such as the Inchworm. It doesn't look super special, but it's specifically designed to appeal to your new baby. It has black-and-white and other high-contrast segments, which are what baby can see most easily. Different textures help develop babys sense of touch. Its "legs" are ribbons you can use to tie Inchworm near a changing table or carseat. Your baby can also make noise with the Inchworm since it contains a rattle inside. Its machine-washable (if you don't know how important that is, you soon will!) and safety-tested.
